The Importance of Being Selective with Your Books
We all know the benefits of reading, and there’s no doubt that books are an incredible tool for learning and personal growth.
In my previous article, I shared Jeffrey Kaplan’s method for retaining more from what you read (by actively engaging with the text and summarizing it, you can get a lot more out of every book or article you read).
While reading is a great activity to find yourself in, I’m a big believer that not every book deserves your time and energy.
Sometimes, we push ourselves to finish books that don’t offer us value, just for the sake of completing them. With so many books out there and limited time that each of us have, we need to be conscious of what we choose to read.
